UPDATE ON THE ANNUAL FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

This announcement is made by Universe International Financial Holdings Limited (the “ Company ” and together with its subsidiaries, the “ Group ”) pursuant to Rule 13.09 of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the provision under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571, Laws of Hong Kong).

The board of directors of the Company (the “ Board ”) wishes to inform the shareholders of the Company and potential investors that the Group is preparing its annual results for the year ended 30 June 2017. Based on the information currently available, the Board noted that in respect of the Group’s securities investments business segment, the Group had recorded a fair value gain arising from the change in fair value of financial assets at fair value through profit or loss of approximately HK$12.7 million for the year ended 30 June 2017 while the Group recorded a fair value loss arising from the change in fair value of financial assets at fair value through profit or loss of approximately HK$143.6 million for the year ended 30 June 2016, which was the principal cause of the Group’s overall loss for that year.

As the Company is still in the process of finalising the annual results for the year ended 30 June 2017, the information contained in this announcement is based only on the preliminary assessment by the management according to the information currently available to it and is not based on any figures or information that has been audited or reviewed by the auditors or the audit committee of the Company. There may be adjustments following review and finalisation of the consolidated management accounts of the Group by the Board. The annual results announcement of the Group for the year ended 30 June 2017 is expected to be published in late September 2017.
