SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES Signs Agreement on possible Outsourcing of Parts of its Mastering Activities
Kahl am Main, November 23, 2012 – SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES (SINGULUS) has reached an agreement (Letter of Intent) with the Dutch VDL Groep, Eindhoven, on a possible outsourcing of parts of its mastering activities.
The agreement was jointly signed on November 22, 2012 and presented to the employees in the Netherlands. The agreement also includes the cooperation for current and future development projects, the continuous support of installed system at customers' sites and new mastering business.
Background VDL Groep
The VDL Groep is an international industrial company focused on the development, production and sale of semi-finished products, buses and coaches and other finished products.
It is a conglomerate of flexible, independent companies, each with its own specialty. The strength of the VDL Groep lies in the mutual cooperation between the companies.
Since its founding in 1953, the VDL Groep has grown to include 81 operating companies, spread over 18 countries, with approximately 7,600 employees.
Profile SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES:
SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES is market leader in the business segment Optical Disc for CD, DVD and Blu-ray Disc production equipment. In the Solar segment, SINGULUS' goal is to attain a leading position in the silicon and thin-film solar technology as a machine supplier as well as a development partner and supplier of manufacturing equipment for new cell concepts. With respect to production technology for CIGS/CIS thin-film solar cells SINGULUS is excellently positioned.
The activities in the division Semiconductor for vacuum deposition machines are extensively strengthened to applications like MRAM, sensors as well as read/write elements. New application areas for vacuum deposition technology are the focus of the further development.
