Press Release

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES: High Order Intake in the Solar Division at STANGL

Kahl am Main, March 28, 2008 - The STANGL Semiconductor Equipment AG
(STANGL), a subsidiary of the SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG, Kahl am Main,
reports a continuing good trend in order intake. 'In the past days we
received a major order as well as several other orders with a total volume
of more than € 15 million. Additional projects are about to be decided',
says Stefan A. Baustert, CEO, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES.

On the one hand, this concerns equipment for a new production site in Asia
for thin-film solar modules on the basis of the CIGS technology. On the
other hand, orders for several wet-chemical machines for crystalline
silicon solar cells were received.

In the business year 2007 STANGL achieved a growth in sales of 50 %, which
amounted to € 30.6 million in total. A significant, double-digit growth
rate is also expected for 2008. With STANGL SINGULUS succeeded in gaining
instant market access to a market which promises a long-term positive trend
with double-digit growth rates.

Together with STANGL SINGULUS is a strong player in solar technology
STANGL and SINGULUS will consistently expand the solar activities. Both
companies perfectly complement each other in order to be able to offer a
broad product range of machines and equipment for the photovoltaics
industry in the next couple of years. While STANGL is focused on
wet-chemical processes, SINGULUS’ core competence is physical coating
technology.

In March 2008 SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES partnered up with the most important
solar cell producer worldwide, Q-Cells, for the development of a new
machine and won the company as a key customer. Q-Cells will significantly
contribute its know-how into the development of this machine. The goal is
to further expand our globally leading position for production equipment
for the crystalline solar cells in the next couple of years.

SINGULUS expects the work area Solar to become the most important driver of
growth in the SINGULUS Group.

Short profile SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES

SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES is market leader for optical disc production lines
and is the only manufacturer globally to offer the complete range of
products: mastering, molding and replication lines.

In addition to the further development of the core activities of Optical
Disc, the diversification into new work areas is the most important
strategic target.

With the acquisition of the STANGL AG SINGULUS successfully entered the
solar equipment market. The new business area Solar will be strongly
expanded in the next couple of years.
