BRENDAN MCDONNELL AND MICHAEL MOVSAS TO RETIRE FROM SIMS LIMITED
Sims Limited (“Sims” or the “Company”), today announced that Brendan McDonnell, Group Chief Technology Officer, will retire on 18 April 2022, and Michael Movsas, Chief Commercial Officer, Sims Metal, will retire on 1 July 2022. Sims has commenced a search process for both roles and will provide a further market update in due course.
Mr McDonnell, an executive with 30 years of experience in IT and technology management roles, joined Sims in December 2017 as Group Chief Technology Officer. He has led Sims Resource Renewal, a division of Sims, since it was formally established in FY21. Mr McDonnell will continue to provide limited advisory services to the Company as it relates to Sims Resource Renewal.
Mr Movsas joined Sims in September 2017 as President, North America Metal with more than 25 years of global experience in the metal recycling and steel industries. He was appointed Chief Commercial Officer, Global Metal in June 2020 and is responsible for both ferrous and nonferrous buying and sales for the metal business division globally. Mr Movsas will complete the majority of his duties by the end of March and provide transitional support through June 2022.

Since his appointment as Chief Commercial Officer, Michael has successfully reorganised the Sims Metal commercial group on a functional basis, and he has guided the business with experience and a steady hand.
In addition to his work as Chief Technology Officer, Brendan has been instrumental in the design and development of Sims Resource Renewal, as well as providing the technical knowledge and operating experience needed to establish the business. I wish both Michael and Brendan a long, happy, and fulfilling retirement.”
As announced in December, the pilot resource renewal facility located in Rocklea, Queensland is expected to be operational in calendar year 2022.
