Sims Metal Management appoints Alistair Field as Managing Director Australia & New Zealand Metals
(ASX: SGM) (OTC: SMSMY) Further to the announcement made on 29 May 2015, Sims Metal Management Group CEO Galdino Claro was today pleased to announce that Alistair Field has been appointed as Managing Director of Australia & New Zealand Metals, commencing on or around 1 October 2015.
Mr Field has more than 25 years of experience in the mining and manufacturing industries. He is a highly experienced executive with a proven track record of leading organisations through business transition and improvement. He has held a number of senior leadership positions, including most recently as Director of Patrick Terminals & Logistics Division for Asciano Limited, and previously as Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto Alcan's Bauxite and Alumina Division. He has worked internationally including living in South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Canada as well as Australia. Mr Field is a mechanical engineer with an MBA from the Henley Management School, Brunel University.
In announcing the appointment Mr Claro said, “We are very excited to have an executive of Alistair’s calibre joining Sims Metal Management. Alistair’s experience across both mining and logistics will be fully utilised as we continue to implement the value added initiatives of our five year strategic plan. I am confident he will make a significant contribution to our Group going forward.”
The Company will release its fiscal 2015 full year results on 21 August 2015.
