SIMS GROUP ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

Sims Group Limited announced today the appointment of Mr Graham Davy as Chief Executive Europe & Sims Recycling Solutions – Global. Mr Davy joined the Company in 2000 on the acquisition of Philip Services’ UK metals recycling business and most recently held the position of Managing Director – Sims Recycling Solutions.

Senior Executives reporting to Mr Davy will include Tom Bird, Managing Director Sims Group UK and Hans Otto Hagemann, Managing Director, Sims Recycling Solutions – Continental Europe. Mr Bird will have an expanded role encompassing Sims’ UK Recycling Solutions business, in addition to his current responsibilities for UK Metals Recycling. Mr Hagemann joined Sims on the acquisition of Metall + Recycling GmbH, of which he was the major shareholder, in October 2006.

Mr Sutcliffe said, “Mr Davy has been responsible for Sims Recycling Solutions global business since its formation in 2002, and has overseen its tremendous growth to become the world’s leading e-recycler. As our European Recycling Solutions business matures, and end-of-life product streams merge, this new structure delivers a more logical platform for the future development of our European business”.
