SIMONDS GROUP (ASX: SIO)
ASX ANNOUNCEMENT
SIMONDS GROUP SENIOR MANAGEMENT CHANGES
Simonds Group (Simonds) (ASX:SIO) is pleased to advise that it has appointed Mr. Chris Troman and Mr. Gerard Healey to the positions of CEO, Simonds Homes, and CEO, Builders Academy Australia (BAA), respectively. Mr. Paul McMahon will continue in his role as Managing Director and CEO of Simonds Group.
Simonds also advises that Mr. Mark Vujovich intends to step down from his role as Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, effective 31st July, 2015. A process is currently underway to appoint his successor.
Mr. Troman joined Simonds Group as Chief Operating Officer in October 2014 from Brickworks Limited, where he held a number of senior finance, corporate development and management positions across various divisions of the business over 13 years.
Mr. Healy joined Simonds Group as General Manager of BAA in January 2014. Since that time he has grown the BAA business from circa 300 to over 4000 enrolled students, with student numbers continuing to grow strongly as the business develops new course offerings and grows its national footprint. Mr. Healy has worked in the Vocational Education and Training sector in a variety of strategic roles over a number of years. Prior to this, he practiced as a corporate lawyer at Mallesons.
Mr. McMahon said the changes were a positive reflection of the opportunities before the business, and a strong indication of the depth of talent within the business.
“I am delighted to be able to announce that the business has reached a tipping point where we require a dedicated CEO for both Simonds Homes and BAA. The Group has a heritage and track record that spans more than 65 years, and our outlook is very positive. Chris and Gerard have proved themselves to be enormously capable leaders within the business already, and I look forward to working alongside them both to deliver on our strategy for the Group and drive shareholder value.
“I would also like to thank Mark for his significant contribution to the business over the past 8 years. Mark has been instrumental in shaping the customer experience of Simonds Homes and he leaves us in a very strong position, well-placed to capitalize on the continued growth we are seeing across this business.”
