Simble Solutions Signs Agreement with Origin Energy – Supplementary Announcement

28 February 2023, Simble Solutions Limited (ASX:SIS) (Simble) refers to the announcement entitled ‘Simble Solutions signs Agreement with Origin Energy' released on the ASX Market Platform on Monday 27 February 2023 (the Announcement ) and provides the following supplementary information to the Announcement.

After extensive evaluation of competing commercial off the shelf (COTS) energy management platforms, Origin Zero , a business unit of Origin Energy Limited ( Origin) , has selected Simble’s SimbleSense platform to offer to its commercial and industrial ( C&I ) energy customers.

Origin Zero offers energy and decarbonisation solutions and services to Origin’s larger business customers, and Simble’s SimbleSense product enables these clients to manage energy usage and derive insights to decarbonise their operations.

Origin has a significant number of business customers, of which a sizeable portion are C&I clients that could benefit from Simble’s platform and offering, opening up an extensive and large new market for SimbleSense in Australia.

The SimbleSense Platform is offered under a recurring Software-as-a-Service ( SaaS ) subscription pricing model, where the number of subscription licences is linked to the number of hardware devices required to service the site of the end-user.

The SimbleSense Platform is an energy analytics, control and visualisation tool and revenue from this new contract to Simble will be determined by the number of meters (sub-metering hardware devices) sold to each Origin client, and corresponding software subscription licenses.

Each unit (package of device and software) connects these end-users to the SimbleSense Platform, and allows the clients to manage, monitor and analyse energy usage down to circuit level within commercial and industrial facilities, buildings, factories and other fixed assets.

A typical mid-sized business customer contract in the general Australian market might expect to need to deploy between 5 and 15 units (devices and annual software subscription) with a prospective retail market value of between $5,000 and $15,000.

This commercially significant contract demonstrates growing demand for the SimbleSense Platform in the Australian market, adding to the recent signing of Intellihub Australia Pty Ltd (ASX Announcement: 21 December 2022).

Intellihub is one of Australia’s largest smart metering providers with over 1 million smart meters deployed in Australia and New Zealand. This month Simble commenced the roll-out of re-branded software units to connect Intellihub customer smart meters within their network to the SimbleSense Platform, to enable those Intellihub customers who take up the service to access energy analytics, control and visualisation.

Intellihub selected Simble as the platform of choice for their needs to engage their customers on energy intelligence.

While the quantum and value of orders resulting from the Origin contract is not known and cannot be quantified at this stage, Simble sees significant potential for the number of units sold under this agreement which would be material to Simble.
