Simble Solutions Limited ( Simble or the Company ) is pleased to announce that the Company, in partnership with Cambridge Architectural Research Limited ( Cambridge Architectural Research or CAR ), has been awarded a £383,000 (A$680,000) UK government grant from The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy ( BEIS ) as part of a funding scheme to support energy efficiency projects in UK homes.
The UK Government funding will be received as part of the Smart Meter Enabled Thermal Efficiency Ratings ( SMETER ) Innovation Programme that is aimed to develop, test and demonstrate technologies that measure the thermal performance of homes using smart meter and other data. About Cambridge Architectural Research
Cambridge Architectural Research was founded in 1987 by researchers from the Martin Centre, the research division of Cambridge University’s Department of Architecture. The company has been working on energy efficiency in buildings and heat loss/heat transfer coefficients in particular, for the past 30 years. CAR has carried out around 20 projects on behalf of DECC/BEIS over the past 11 years, specialising in the thermal performance of homes. CAR has strengths in modelling carbon emissions, household energy use, energy monitoring and using Smart-Meter data, and has published two reports for the Department and one for an insulation manufacturer that are directly relevant to the SMETER project.
