Picture of Dr. Ornit Raz

Has extensive experience in senior management in a variety of complex companies in the fields of industry, food, and services, as a CEO and director. In my various roles, I have gained deep familiarity with all business activities of the companies, including leading strategic processes such as company sales and even leading a successful merger between companies, growth, and efficiency. Managing ongoing operations in all aspects: financial, regulatory, commercial, operational, and marketing.

For about two years, I have served as the chairperson of the board of a company (agricultural cooperative) with 8 corporations (industry, food, services, and agriculture), as a director in an industrial company traded on NASDAQ, a board member in Polyhed (which manufactures

plastic food packaging), and as a lecturer at the university in the School of Business Administration in the fields of strategy and marketing.

Dr. Ornit Raz

CEO of the ELA Recycling Corporation (2020–) In this role, I took over a deficit company that was jointly owned by companies from the food and beverage sector and worked to rehabilitate it by leading efficiency processes: operational (both in the factories themselves and in the complex logistics network), commercial (trade with retailers), infrastructure, service system, technology, trade (local and international), financial aspects, and more. At the same time, due to a significant change in market conditions and regulatory boundaries, I initiated and led a reform that changed the face of the national recycling system, which required, among other things, initiating and leading a merger process between companies (with Coca-Cola, the Central Bottling Company) – I note that this is a process I initiated, led, and completed successfully. I managed a financial cycle of hundreds of millions of shekels and hundreds of employees. I continued to accompany the company as a consultant after the merger, until April 2025.

CEO of the Institute for Safety and Hygiene (2016–2020) I led a reform in a statutory corporation that was facing closure. In this framework, I led organizational change that included resource pooling and operational efficiency in all units of the corporation, alongside market development and growth. I led to new target audiences, established a "customer club", retained existing customers, developed innovative products, and a process of digital transformation, in accordance with national tasks on the agenda. Among other things, I initiated the establishment of an innovative national center "Life Line" for reporting and handling work accidents. I also established an applied research center and institutionalized research collaborations with academic and private institutions to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases. I managed about 120 employees and hundreds of subcontractors and served as chairperson of the tenders committee. At the same time, I served as chairperson of the board of the Israeli Consumer Council, Government Companies Authority (2016–2018), and worked to rehabilitate the company according to the State Comptroller's report. In this role, I initiated actions with government bodies and worked to strengthen the council's status in the public arena and care for consumers. During this period, I also held other public positions, such as a member of the Exemptions and Mergers Committee at the Competition Authority.

CEO of a private tahini manufacturing company (2015–2016) I was called to lead a complex process of moving a small family factory to an advanced and innovative industrial plant, planning and installing production lines, managing employees, and promoting and implementing local and international regulatory standards. At the same time, I worked to develop new markets with major food corporations.

CEO of the Food Industries Association, Manufacturers Association (2013–2015) In this role, I led public processes to promote the food industry. Among other things, I initiated and led legislation on regulatory improvement, food quality standards, represented the sector in "Food Law" discussions, and led collaborations with regulatory bodies to promote a supportive business environment.

CEO of the Organization for Organic Agriculture and Industry (2007–2013) I

managed a national organization that worked to develop organic agriculture and industry in Israel and abroad. Alongside promoting legislative initiatives (such as the law for the production of organic industry/agriculture, law to reduce pesticides, etc.), I initiated new business ventures, including the establishment of an entrepreneurship center for the organic industry in Ramat Negev. I worked to develop international markets in the field of organic agriculture, served on various standardization committees, and led reciprocity agreements between countries and led the sale of the "Agrior" company, which was owned by the organization, an international company for supervision and certification of agricultural and food products.
