Using the automated GUARDEAN process enables the automotive industry bank to review loan applica-tions quickly and objectively. BDK is the German subsidiary of leading French bank Société Générale SA and the third international financial services provider in the automotive sector to deploy the SHS solution. Previously, BMW Financial Services and Toyota Finan-cial Services also opted for GUARDEAN. BDK will use GUARDEAN to assess and manage its sales financing loan process. The automated system enables BDK to make loan decisions within seconds and to improve the efficiency and objectivity of its application review process. Customers also benefit from this as decisions to grant loans for vehicle buyers can be made even faster than today. For sales consultants, the new software means that they will spend considerably less time on reviewing applications and can use this time to focus even more on meeting the individual needs of their customers. BDK handles the German sales financing business of Société Générale SA. For BDK, the technical reliability of its systems in day-to-day operations is paramount. ALD D GmbH, the IT sister company of BDK, is responsible for choosing the new software. “We selected GUARDEAN from SHS because this system perfectly complements our existing systems, both functionally and technically,” says Philippe Heuzard La Couture, IT director at ALD. Dirk Roesing, chief executive officer of SHS, emphasizes the growing im- portance of the speedy and reliable procurement of information: “Fast deci- sionmaking is becoming increasingly important in all areas of business. GUARDEAN provides all the information that is necessary to facilitate con- tract decisions.” Munich-based SHS Informationssysteme AG is listed on the Prime Standard segment of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and operates a subsidiary in Spain. The IT services provider focuses on offering customer management and credit risk management solutions to compa-nies with a broad customer base. In 2004, the company recorded revenues of EUR 32 million. The customers of SHS AG include T-Mobile, T-Online, Südleasing, BMW Bank, Tele-fónica, amena, Barclaycard and other international companies in the information and finan- cial sectors.
