Shine Lawyers Earnings Growth to Continue in 2013/14
Wednesday 23 October 2013
At its inaugural AGM today, the Shine Lawyers Board reaffirmed its forecast for strong earnings growth in 2013/14.
The Company’s Chairman, Mr Tony Bellas, reaffirmed Shine’s prospectus forecast for the year to 30 June 2014 of net profit after tax of $21.3M, an increase of 21.5% on the previous year.
Mr Bellas said the key drivers of growth were national expansion through acquisitions to take advantage of the consolidation occurring in the plaintiff litigation sector, as well as diversification into emerging practice areas.
Shine’s Managing Director, Simon Morrison, stated that Shine had been diversifying its operations into emerging practice areas such as professional negligence, environmental law, land owner rights and class actions.
Mr Morrison also stated that this had been a deliberate strategy aimed at reducing the Company’s reliance on personal injury compensation and it was expected that growth in these areas would more than offset any impacts of recent legislative changes to the Queensland Workers Compensation Scheme.
“The Company is in a strong financial position and well placed to take advantage of the ongoing consolidation in the industry,” Mr Morrison said.
