India's exposure to US securities jumps over $20 billion in 3 months

INDIA'S HOLDING OF US government securities surged by more than $20 billion in just three months ended June to $220.2 billion amid rising foreign exchange reserves.

Compared to June last year, when most of the economic activities were ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic, the exposure of India to the US Treasury securities jumped by nearly $40 billion.

Latest data from the US Treasury Department showed that India, with holding worth $220.2 billion at the end of June this year, is the 11th largest holder of these securities while Japan has the most exposure at little over $1.277 trillion.

India has been steadily hiking its exposure to the treasury securities since March when it was at $200 billion. In April, the holding rose to $$208.7$ billion and then to $215.8 billion at the end of May.

In February, the country's exposure stood at $204.4 billion, a steep decline from

$211.6 billion in January. The holding was at $182.7 billion at the end of June 2020.

Unmesh Kulkarni, managing director senior advisor at wealth management major Julius Baer India, said the rise in India's exposure to US treasuries needs to be seen in the context of the continuous build-up of the country's forex reserves.

"US Treasury yields, after bottoming out around the middle of last year and rising steadily thereafter, have been on a decline since May'21, while RBI has been gradually raising its exposure since April'21," he said.

પ્રમુખ અશ્વિનસિંહ બિહોલા અને ઉમેદવાર ભરતભાઇ દીક્ષિત તથા કાર્યકર્તાઓ દ્વારા પાટનગર યોજના ભવનના સંબંધિત ડિવિઝનના અધિકારીઓ સાથે સતત સંકલન અને પરામર્શ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો. છેવટે સ્થાનિક વસાહતીઓ સાથે સંકલન કરીનેખોદકામ કરી પાણીની પાઇપલાઈનો નાખવાનું કામ તંત્ર દ્વારા શરૂ કરી દેવામાં આવ્યું છે જેની શરુઆત બોરીજ જૈન દેરાસર પાસેના વણઝારા વાસ ખાતેથી કરવામાં આવી છે. પાણીની નવી પાઇપલાઇન નાખવાનું કામ શરૂ થતાં વર્ષો જૂની પીવાના પાણીની સમસ્યા ઉકેલાશે તેવું પ્રતિત થતાં સ્થાનિક રહીશોમાં ખુશીનો માહોલ જોવા મળી રહ્યો છે. આ પ્રસંગે ભાજપના વોર્ડ પ્રમુખ તથા ઉમેદવાર અને કાર્યકર્તાઓએ પાટનગર યોજના ડિવિઝનના અધિકારીઓ તથા સ્થાનિક સ્ટાફનો આભાર

ભાઇબહેનના પ્રેમનો પવિત્ર તહેવાર રક્ષાબંધન ભારે હર્ષોલ્લાસ સાથે ઉજવાયો હતો. રક્ષાબંધનના તહેવારના પગલે બપોર પછી ગાંધીનગરને જોડતા હાઇવે પર વાહન વ્યવહારમાં વધારો જોવા મળ્યો હતો અને કેટલેક ઠેકાણે નાના-મોટા ટ્રાફિક જામની સમસ્યા પણ સર્જાઇ હતી.

ગત વર્ષે કોરોનાને પગલે રક્ષાબંધનનો તહેવાર નાગરિકોએ ચિંતા અને ડર સાથે ઉજવ્યો હતો પરંતુ આ વર્ષે હાલ મહામારીની સ્થિતિમાં ગાંધીનગર સહિત રાજ્યમાં ઘણી રાહત હોવાને કારણે હિન્દુ પરિવારોમાં રક્ષાબંધનનો તહેવાર ખુબ જ હર્ષોલ્લાસ સાથે ઉજવવામાં આવ્યો હતો અને ફરી એકવાર પારિવારિક માહોલ સાથે સૌએ આ તહેવારનો આનંદ માણ્યો હતો. જોકે આ વર્ષે અનેક પરિવારોમાં કોરોના મહામારીમાં બીજી લહેર દરમ્યાન થયેલા મરણપ્રસંગોને પગલે શોકની કાલિમા પણ અનુભવાઈ હતી. આજેવહેલી સવારથી જ બહેનોએ પોતાના ભાઈઓને રાખડી બાંધવા માટે પિયર તરફની વાટ પકડી હતી. હજપણ કોરોના મહામારીના સંક્રમણનો ડર હોવાને કારણે મોટા ભાગના પરીવારોએ પોતાના નાના-મોટા ખાનગી વાહનોથી જ અવરજવર

આસપાસના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારને જોડતા માગાં પર વાહન વ્યવહારમાં વધારો જોવા મળ્યો હતો. બપોર પછી સાંજના સમયે સ્વાભાવિક રીતે જ એક જ સમયગાળામાં ઘરે પરત ફરતાં વાહનોને કારણે શહેરને જોડતા હાઇવે સહિતના મુખ્ય માર્ગો પર ટ્રાફિકનો ધસારો જોવા મળ્યો હતો. સરખેજ-ગોંધીનગર હાઈવે, ગાંધીનગર કોબા માર્ગ ગાંધીનગર ચિલોડા નેશનલ હાઇવે તેમજ ગાંધીનગર માણસા માર્ગ પર સાંજના સમયે વાહનોની સંખ્યા વધી જતાં મુખ્ય જંક્શનો પર નાનામોટા ટ્રાફિકજામની સ્થિતિ જોવા મળી હતી જેમાં ચિલોડા જંક્શન, રક્ષાશક્તિ સર્કલ, ઘ-૦ ઈન્ફોસિટી સર્કલ, સરગાસણ ચાર રસ્તા, રિલાયન્સ ચાર રસ્તા અને રાંધેજા ચોકડી સહિતના ગાંધીનગર શહેરની આસપાસના મુખ્ય જંકશનો સહિત શહેરની અંદર ઘ-૩ એસટી ડેપો સર્કલ, ચ-૦ સર્કલ, ઘ-૫ સર્કલ, ઘ-૬ સર્કલ, પ્રેસ સર્કલ, સે.૨૪ ચાર રસ્તા, ઘ-૨ અને ગ-૨ ઉપરાંત ખ-રોડ અને ક-રોડ પર પણ ટ્રાફિકમાં ધસારો જોવા મળ્યો હતો. સાંજના સમયે અનેક પરિવારો તહેવારોની રજાને કારણે બહાર ફરવા નીકળ્યા હોય તેવી સ્થિતિ પણ જોવા મળી હતી જેના કારણે પણ ટ્રાફિકમાં વધારો થવા પામ્યો હતો.

માણસા ઈકો કારમાં મહિલાના દાગીના લુંટી લેનાર પ્રેમી-પંખીડા ઝડપાયા ગાંધીનગર, તા.૨૨ તાજેતરમાં ભાઈને રાખડી બાંધવા માટે સંતાનોને લઈને

નીકળેલી બહેનને માર મારી ઈકો કારમાં મુસાફરના સ્વાંગમાં બેઠેલી લુંટની ઘટનાને પગલે સમગ્ર માણસા પંથકમાં હાહાકાર મચી ગઈ હતી.

ટોળકીએ સોના-ચાંદીના દાગીના તેમજ રોકડ મળી કુલ રૂ.૨.૪૨ લાખની મત્તાની લુંટ કરી હતી. આ

પંખીડાને પકડી પાડી કુલ રૂ.૧.૨૭ લાખનો મુદ્દામાલ જપ્ત કરી ગુનાનો ભેદ ઉકેલી દીધો છે.

અને એક દિકરો છે. રક્ષાબંધન તહેવારને પગલે બે દિવસ અગાઉ ત્રણેય બાળકો સાથે માણસા તેમના ભાઈના ઘરે જવા માટે નીકળ્યા હતા. વિજાપુર ચાર રસ્તા પાસે એક ઈકો ગાડી આવીને ઉભી રહી હતી. માણસા તરફ જવાનું હોય તો બેસી જવા કહ્યું હતું. નિતાબેન ત્રણેય સંતાનો સાથે ઈકો ગાડીમાં બેસી ગયા હતા.તે સમયે ઈકોમાં અન્ય મુસાફર તરીકે બે મહિલા અને એક પુરૂષ સહિત ડ્રાઈવર હતો. માણસા

રૂપીયા હોય તે આપી દે નહીતર તારા દિકરાને મારી નાંખશુ. એ દરમિયાન એક શખ્સ તિક્ષ્ણ હથીયાર દેખાડીને નીતાબેન ગભરાઈ ગયા હતા અને હોહા કરવા લાગ્યા હતા.જેથી ત્રણ સંતાનોને ગાડી નીચે ઉતારી દઈને મહિલાને માર મારી સોનાના

દાગીના તેમજ રોકડ રૂપીયા મળી કુલ રૂ.૨.૪૨ લાખ ની મત્તા સાથેનું પર્સ લુંટી ફરાર થઈ ગયા હતા. જયારે માણસા શહેરમાં ભર બપોરે લુંટની ઘટના બનતા જિલ્લા પોલીસ વડાએ ઘટનાને ગંભીરતા થી લેતા લુંટારૂઓને તાત્કાલીક પકડવા માટે સુચનાઓ આપી હતી. જેથી માણસા પોલીસ મથકના પીઆઈ જતીન પ્રજાપતિ એ વિવિધ ટીમો તપાસ આરંભી હતી.બાતમીને

લુંટારૂઓએ નીતાબેનને કહ્યું હતુ

ચોકડીથી પ્રેમીલાબેન ઉર્ફે પુજા ઉર્ફે જૂલી વિનોદભાઈ ધનજીભાઈ રાઠોડ (રહે. પેથાપુર,રાંધેજા રોડ મારૂતિ શો-રૂમના ગોડાઉન પાછળ), તેમજ સાહિલ નરેશભાઈ ભંગી (રહે સેકટર-૩૦ જીટીએસ નંદા શો રૂમની પાચછ કાચા છાપરામાં ) ને સોનાના દાગીના રૂ. ૯૨,૭૭૮ તેમજ રોકડા રૂપીયા ૩૫ હજાર મળી કુલ રૂપીયા ૧,૨૭,૭૭૮ નો મુદ્દામાલ કબ્જે કરી આરોપીઓને પકડી પાડી ગુનાનો ભેદ ઉકેલી દીધો છે. ઉલ્લેખનીય છે કે લુંટમાં ઝડપાયેલા પ્રેમી-પંખીડા લીવઈન રીલેશનશીપમાં રહે છે.જયારે મુખ્ય સુત્રધાર હાલમાં ફરાર છે. લુંટનું સ્થાન નક્કી થયા બાદ તે આ બે પ્રેમીપંખીડાને બોલાવતો હતો અને તે ઈકો કારમાં મુસાફરના સ્વાંગમાં બેસીને ગુનાને અંજામ આપતા હતા. બનાવ અંગે પોલીસે આગળની વધુ તપાસ શરુ કરી છે.

જાખોરા ગામે ઈન્દીરાનગર કુસકોર તળાવ નજીક બાજી માંડીને બેઠેલા શકુનીઓ પણ ચિલોડા પોલીસ ત્રાટકી હતી. પોલીસે જોતા જ જુગારીઓમાં દોડધામ મચી હતી. ત્યારે ચિલોડા પોલીસે પ જુગારીઓને રૂ.૪૮૫૦ ના મુદ્દામાલ સાથે પકડી પાડી જુગારધારા હેઠળ ગુનો નોંધી આગળની તપાસ હાથ સુત્રો દ્વારા મળતી વિગત મુજબ ચિલોડા પોલીસ મથકના સ્ટાફના જવાનો પેટ્રોલીંગમાં હતા તે સમયે જાખોર ગામ નજીક પોલીસને બાતમી મળી હતી કે ગામના ઈન્દીરાનગર વિસ્તારમાં કુસકોર તળાવ નજીક કેટલાક શખ્સો જુગાર
