Seven Group Holdings and Carlyle to undertake strategic review of ownership in Coates Hire

In response to recent enquires, Seven Group Holdings Limited (SGH) and The Carlyle Group (Carlyle) are jointly undertaking a strategic review of their ownership alternatives in relation to Coates Hire Limited (Coates Hire).

SGH and Carlyle have appointed Goldman Sachs to co-ordinate the strategic review, which will commence immediately and is expected to take several months to reach a conclusion. Goldman Sachs will be assisted by CICC in China and Nomura in Japan. SGH and Carlyle will make further announcements as and when appropriate.

Coates Hire is Australia's largest equipment hire company with over 125 years’ experience in the industry, and over 200 branches and satellite locations across Australia serving a wide variety of markets including Engineering, Building Construction and Maintenance, Mining and Resources, Manufacturing, Government, and Events. For the twelve months ending 30 June 2012, Coates Hire earned revenues of A$1.3 billion.
