Severfield-Rowen plc, the market leading structural steel group, announces the appointment of Alun Griffiths to the Board as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 May 2014.

In addition, the Company announces that Keith Elliott will retire from the Board on 21 July 2014 having served as a Director for 15 years, including as Chairman of the remuneration committee and senior independent Non-executive Director.

Mr. Griffiths is currently Group HR Director and Board member at WS Atkins plc, a leading engineering and project management consultancy. An economics graduate, Mr. Griffiths is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and a Non-executive Director of the group, Women in Science and Engineering.

He has worked in a number of business management and corporate positions, including HR, strategy and marketing. Mr. Griffiths is a Non-executive Director of The McLean Partnership Limited, member of the National Employer Advisory Board, Chairman of the advisory board of UCL 2050 leadership programme and a member of the Royal Society Diversity Steering Group. He will join the Board of the Port of London Authority on 1 September 2014.

Mr. Griffiths will take over as Chair of the Company's remuneration committee on 21 July 2014 following the retirement of Mr. Elliott.
