ASX & MEDIA RELEASE
SERVICE STREAM SECURES MULTI-YEAR (4+2+2) UNIFIED FIELD OPERATIONS (NETWORKS) AGREEMENT WITH NBN
Leading essential network services company Service Stream Limited (ASX: SSM) is pleased to announce that it has secured a significant long‐term agreement with nbn Co. ( nbn ) for the provision of network operations, maintenance and optimisation services to its multi‐technology National Broadband Network.
Under the new Unified Field Operations Agreement (Unify Networks), Service Stream will continue to be responsible for performing operations and maintenance activities across core network technologies, including Fibre to the Node (FTTN), Fibre to the Premise (FTTP), Fibre to the Basement (FTTB) Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) and Hybrid Fibre Coax (HFC) as well as other technologies which may be introduced in the future.
The agreement is for an initial period of four years and includes a provision of two x two‐year extension options, at nbn’s election. This agreement supersedes the existing Network Maintenance & Restoration Agreement (NMRA) that has been held by Service Stream and which has been extended by nbn on multiple occasions since its original execution in September 2012.
Under Unify Networks’ regional allocation model, nbn has initially awarded Service Stream works across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and ACT, with additional works able to be allocated in other regions at nbn’s discretion. Unify Networks is expected to generate approximately $60 million of revenue for the Group in its first year, and grow as the network and its associated support activities expand into the future.
Managing Director, Leigh Mackender said: “As a leading provider of operations and maintenance services to the telecommunications industry, we are pleased to secure this long‐term maintenance agreement with nbn and to continue providing vital support to its customers.
We are very proud that this award further demonstrates the confidence that nbn has in Service Stream’s ability to provide critical network maintenance and upgrade services to the National Broadband Network. We look forward to continuing as nbn’s leading network maintenance delivery partner for many years to come.”
