ASX & MEDIA RELEASE

Service Stream awarded new Design & Construction Agreement for nbn FTTC

Leading essential network services company Service Stream Limited (ASX: SSM) is pleased to announce that it has signed a new Design and Construction Master Agreement (DCMA) with nbn .

Under the DCMA, Service Stream’s Fixed Communications division will be responsible for the design and construction of broadband infrastructure to approximately 130,000 premises in the eastern regions of Melbourne under nbn’s new Fibre-to-the-Curb (FTTC) technology.

Service Stream anticipates receiving its first work instruction under the agreement and commencing design works as early as February 2017, targeting the completion of all associated construction activities by April 2019.

Works under the new contract are valued at approximately $120 million over the 2.5 year term.

Managing Director, Leigh Mackender said: “Service Stream is proud to further expand its role in supporting nbn in undertaking one of the Nation’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Being awarded this DCMA for the new Fibre-to-the-Curb technology is another vote of confidence by nbn in Service Stream’s capabilities and recognition of Fixed Communications’ positive performance under the Multi-technology Integrated Master Agreement (MIMA) with nbn which has seen the business successfully construct Fibre-to-the-Node services for approximately 40,000 premises across Eastern Victoria so far in the past year.”

In addition to the MIMA and this new DCMA, Service Stream’s Fixed Communications division provides nbn with operations and maintenance field services (including service activations, service assurance, network assurance and preventative maintenance) over a substantial portion of the National Broadband Network covering FTTN, FTTP, FTTB and HFC fixed-line technologies.
