ASX & Media Release

6 September 2012

Service Stream awarded FSD and NARA contracts by NBN Co

Service Stream is pleased to announce that it has been awarded Field Services Delivery (FSD) and Network Augmentation and Restoration Activities (NARA) contracts by NBN Co for Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory and Victoria.

Each contract is for two years, with two one-year options for extension. Service Stream estimates that the work from these contracts will generate revenue of $80 million (including $64 million from services provided with the balance relating to specified materials) over the next two years, with a bias to the second year.

Under the FSD contract, Service Stream will install Network Termination Devices and Power Supply Units within end users’ premises. In addition, Service Stream will install underground and aerial fibre lead-ins to premises including the installation of Premises Connection Devices.

Under the NARA contract, Service Stream will provide services on the National Broadband Network relating to the repair and relocation of infrastructure, including the fibre between points of interconnect and end users’ premises.

Commenting on these new contracts, Managing Director Graeme Sumner said “As with the NBN New Developments contract that we announced recently, the FSD and NARA contract awards are directly to Service Stream in its own right. They complement the network construction contracts that are being undertaken for NBN Co in Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory by the Syntheo Joint Venture in which Service Stream has a 50% interest”.

Mr Sumner went on to say “We are very pleased that NBN Co continues to demonstrate confidence in our ability to work constructively with it on this most important of nation changing initiatives. We consider the FSD and NARA contracts to be strategically significant for Service Stream, since not only are they a return to the ticket-of-work style of activity that we have become renowned for, but they have the potential for significant volume growth as the roll-out of the National Broadband Network gathers pace.”
