Michael Doery appointed Acting Managing Director

The Board of Service Stream (ASX:SSM) today advised that - effective 1 August 2009 - Michael Doery has been appointed acting Managing Director of Service Stream Limited. This appointment follows the recent resignation of current CEO and Managing Director Patrick Flannigan which takes effect from 31 July 2009.

Michael joined Service Stream in July 2004 as an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer. More recently, Michael was also appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer, which gave him a deep understanding of all aspects of Service Stream's business. Michael has played an important role across most aspects of the business, and is very well placed to step into the role of Managing Director, while the Board undertakes a national and international search for a permanent appointee to the role.

Commenting on the appointment, Lyn Davies, Chairman, said: “The Board and I are very pleased to have an executive of the calibre of Michael to step into the Managing Director role during this transitional period. Not only are we comfortable that Michael will continue to strengthen and grow the Company in the short term, with the minimum of disruption to the business, but his appointment also demonstrates the strength of the Service Stream senior team. As a Company we look forward to testing the market for external candidates for the permanent role of Managing Director, and we are delighted to know that the standard set is high if they are to surpass the internal capabilities in the Company.”
