TCI Appoints Ian Thorley as Non-Executive Director

TCI is pleased to announce that Mr Ian Thorley was appointed as a Non Executive Director at today's Board Meeting.

TCI welcomes this appointment and recognises the value of the commercial acumen and experience that Ian Thorley brings to the Board.

lan Thorley has had a 30 year health services career in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria and is Chief Operating Officer of Little Company of Mary Healthcare, which employs over three thousand employees through its operations in 13 private hospitals and aged care facilities throughout Australia.

Prior to joining Little Company of Mary Healthcare, Mr Thorley was Chief Executive Officer of Benchmark Healthcare, where he led the restructuring of the group's 10 private hospitals in Victoria and South Australia and it's emergence as a leading provider of private health care services until its sale to the Ramsey Group in early 2004.

From 1991 to 2001, Mr Thorley held executive roles in Health Care of Australia/Mayne Health including General Manager/Chief Operating Officer of 20 hospitals in NSW and Queensland. He has extensive experience in Strategic Planning, Business Development, Financial Planning, Capital Project Development and Government Relations. He has consulted to private hospital operators and private health insurers.

He holds a Bachelor of Health Administration Degree and a Master of Commerce Degree from the University of New South Wales and has held senior operational and functional roles in both the public and private sectors.
