MDS Financial Group Ltd (ASX: MWS, “the Group”) announces that Mr. Wayne Johnson has resigned his position as a Director of the Board of the listed company, its subsidiaries and as an executive effective 21 January 2014.

The Board has elected Mr. Peter Stirling as the Group’s Chairman.

Mr. Johnson, the founder, director and CEO of the Cube Financial Group (which he vended into MWS in 2007), returned to the Group at the request of the Group’s previous Chairman, as an executive responsible for corporate advisory. In April 2011, Mr. Johnson rejoined the Board as Executive Deputy Chairman, later assuming the role of Chairman in January 2013.

Under Mr. Johnson’s guidance, the Group has strengthened with new shareholders and strategic relationships he introduced to support the Group’s development as a fi nancial services company combining market leading charting capability, stockbroking as an ASX participant and corporate advisory. The latter demonstrated by Mr. Johnson’s leadership in the successful listing of Sino Australia Oil and Gas Ltd on the ASX in December 2013.

MDS Executive Director, Richard Symon, said that whilst Mr. Johnson had relinquished his executive and director positions with the Group he is connected to MDS as a shareholder and remains interested in the developments of the Group, its staff and stakeholders.

Mr. Symon said, “Mr. Johnson’s contribution to assist recapitalising the Group and introducing strategic relationships left MDS in a strong position for growth. We thank Mr. Johnson for his contribution to the Group and we wish him our best for his future endeavours”.
