MICHAEL IWANIW APPOINTED EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

Select Harvests has announced that Michael Iwaniw has been appointed Executive Chairman of the Company until the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer in due course.

Mr Iwaniw, who served as Managing Director of ABB Grain Ltd for 20 years, will work closely with Paul Chambers, Chief Financial Officer, and the senior management team of Select Harvests, to ensure the smooth running of the business following the retirement of Chief Executive, John Bird.

Executive search consultancy Amrop Cordiner King has been appointed to conduct a search process to find the best candidate to lead the business through its next stage of growth and development.

Mr Iwaniw said, “Select Harvests’ has one of the most experienced executive teams in the Australian almond industry. Our strong leadership team spans roles in horticultural management, operations, almond trading and food. I look forward to supporting the team during the harvesting, packaging and selling of the 2012 harvest and in driving ongoing initiatives to realign our cost base and reduce working capital requirements.”

Mr Bird retires on 31[st] March 2012 and will be on leave until that date. Mr Bird stepped down from the Select Harvests’ Board on 2[nd] March 2012.
