APPOINTMENT OF NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

2 October 2012

Select Harvests Limited (ASX: SHV) today announced the appointment of Mr Paul Riordan to the position of Non Executive Director.

Mr Riordan is co-founder and executive director (operations) of Boundary Bend Olives, Australia’s largest vertically integrated olive company specialising in the production of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Paul graduated with a Diploma of Farm Management from Marcus Oldham Agricultural College, Geelong, Victoria in 1995. He has worked throughout Australia and in the USA in such differing rural enterprises as certified small seed production in southern Victoria, large-scale sheep and grain organisations in Western Australia, and beef cattle enterprises in Colorado USA, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia and central Australia. Paul has travelled extensively overseas to visit and study in countries where the olive industry has been a major farming and cultural pursuit, including Italy, Spain, Israel, Argentina, and America. Paul’s responsibilities include managing the operational side of the olive groves located at Boundary Bend, Boort and Wemen, as well as overseeing the manufacturing of the Colossus olive harvesters (which originated from Argentina) in Buronga, NSW.

Commenting on the announcement Select Harvests Chairman Michael Iwaniw said: “I am pleased to welcome Mr Riordan to the board. His depth of operational and business experience in vertically integrated agribusiness provides experience to our Board in areas of horticultural operations and risk management. He will bring local insights to our business with his olive business being located close to the heartland of our Victorian almond orchards. His experience and credentials are well suited to support Select Harvests through its next stage of development.”
