secunet Security Networks AG: EBIT after 9 months below expectations / Exceptional expense due to tax provision
secunet Security Networks AG / Quarter Results/Profit Warning
30.09.2009
Dissemination of an Ad hoc announcement according to § 15 WpHG, transmitted by
DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG.
The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement.
[Essen, 29 September 2009] secunet Security Networks AG will see a further
increase in sales in third-quarter 2009, and thus for the first nine months
of 2009 as a whole. Provisional estimates peg third quarter sales at EUR
11.8 million (+6% versus previous year), with sales for the period from
January to September 2009 at EUR 37.3 million (+12% versus previous year).
However, due to the way its sales are broken down, the company will be
unable to meet expectations for earnings before interest and tax (EBIT).
Moreover, the 2009 quarterly and nine-month results are being negatively
impacted by a one-off tax provision. Therefore, overall the company is
posting an estimated EBIT of EUR -0.8 million for the third quarter
(previous year: EUR -0.1 million) and an EBIT of EUR -0.5 million for the
first nine months (previous year: EUR -0.3 million). secunet Security
Networks AG is holding off on releasing a forecast for its annual results
due to seasonal factors related to its business (a traditionally strong
fourth quarter).
The company will publish its complete results for third-quarter 2009 on 6
November 2009.
