SDRL - Successful completion of private placement

Hamilton, Bermuda, April 19, 2010 - Seadrill Limited confirms the private

placement of new shares announced on April 13, 2010, closed on April 16, 2010.

The new shares of 12.5 million have been issued and the share capital of

Seadrill, following the completion of the equity issue in relation to the

private placement, amounts to US$824,576,432 represented by 412,288,216 ordinary

shares of US$2.00 par value.
