SCENTRE GROUP (ASX: SCG / ADR: SCTRY/ ASX: CDP) RETIREMENT OF MR RICHARD EGERTON-WARBURTON AO LVO

Mr Dick Warburton AO LVO has today informed the Board of Scentre Group that he does not intend to seek re-election as a Director at the Group’s AGM to be held on 5 May 2016. Mr Warburton will retire at the conclusion of that meeting.

Mr Warburton said: “It has been a privilege to have served as the Chairman of Westfield Retail Trust and a Director of Scentre Group. I think it is the right time to retire in light of the successful restructure of Westfield Group and Westfield Retail Trust.”

Mr Warburton who is Chairman of the Group’s Nomination Committee, also acknowledged the ongoing renewal and succession planning for the Group evidenced by the recent board appointments of Ms Carolyn Kay and Ms Margie Seale.

Mr Lowy AC paid tribute to Mr Warburton saying: “Dick joined Westfield Retail Trust as Chairman on its establishment in 2010. He saw through the successful implementation and merger of Westfield Retail Trust with Westfield Group’s Australian and New Zealand business, which created substantial value for both sets of securityholders. Dick continued to make a significant contribution to Scentre Group. I look forward to acknowledging that contribution at the AGM.”
