Santos appoints Vanessa Guthrie as a Director
Santos today announced that Vanessa Guthrie has been appointed to the Santos Board as an independent non-executive director with such appointment to take effect on 1 July 2017.
The appointment of Dr Guthrie is part of the Board’s ongoing renewal process, following the retirement of Scott Sheffield at the conclusion of the recent Annual General Meeting.
Dr Guthrie brings with her a deep understanding of geology, the environment and management of natural resources. She has substantial experience in the mining industry across a variety of roles including operations, environment, community, indigenous affairs, corporate development and sustainability.
Dr Guthrie has qualifications in geology, environment, law and business management including a PhD in Geology. She was previously Managing Director and CEO of Toro Energy Limited and VP Sustainable Development at Woodside Energy, and is currently Chair of the Minerals Council of Australia and a NonExecutive Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Santos Chairman, Mr Peter Coates said he was delighted with the appointment and looked forward to working with Dr Guthrie on the Santos Board.
