Charitable Contribution

The Board of Directors of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (KS005930, KS005935, SMSN, SMSD)

("SEC") on February 16, 2021 authorized the following: (i) management plan for the Social

Contribution Matching Fund for 2021 and (ii) contribution to the Chungnam Samsung Academy.

Management Plans for the Social Contribution Matching Fund for 2021

- The Social Contribution Fund consists of voluntary contributions by employees with matching funds

from SEC. SEC plans to contribute KRW 11.61 billion in 2021 to match the funds raised by

employees last year.

- SEC's contributions will be used for social contribution activities related to youth education and

assistance for vulnerable members of the population.

Contribution to Chungnam Samsung Academy

- SEC will contribute KRW 2.446 billion in early March, 2021 to Chungnam Samsung Academy as

a part of its efforts to (i) attract talented employees by improving the learning environment for the

school-aged children of such employees and (ii) improve the local education infrastructure.
