Early Termination of Independent Director's Term

On April 20, 2022, Wha Jin Han, an Independent Director of the Board of Directors (the "Board") of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (the "Company"), tendered her resignation from the Company's Board for personal reasons, effective as of the same date. Her term began on March 16, 2022 and was scheduled to end on March 15, 2025.

Since, due to the foregoing resignation, the Board does not meet the quorum as required by Article 542-8(1) of the Commercial Act, the Board will appoint a new Independent Director at the first general meeting of shareholders from the foregoing date, pursuant to Article 542-8(3) of the same Act.
