San Donato Milanese (Mi), 22 febbraio 2021 - Saipem ha ricevuto da Qatargas una Letter of Award per lo sviluppo del North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project, situato al largo della costa nordorientale della penisola del Qatar. Il valore del contratto ammonta a circa 1,7 miliardi di USD.
Lo scopo del lavoro comprende l'ingegneria, l'approvvigionamento, la costruzione e l'installazione di diversi impianti offshore per l'estrazione e il trasporto di gas naturale tra cui piattaforme, strutture di supporto e collegamento, cavi sottomarini e condotte rivestite internamente con materiali anticorrosivi. Il progetto comprende inoltre il decommissioning di una condotta e altre significative modifiche a strutture offshore esistenti.
Le attività di varo e sollevamento saranno eseguite dalla nave DE HE in acque profonde circa 65 metri, sfruttando la tecnologia proprietaria di Saipem per la saldatura di condotte anticorrosione, allo scopo di soddisfare i rigorosi requisiti di qualità del Cliente.
Il progetto incrementerà la capacità di produzione originaria del giacimento di gas a 110 milioni di tonnellate all'anno.
Questo nuovo contratto, che consolida la posizione del gruppo in Qatar, è il più recente di una serie di altri progetti assegnati a Saipem dal suo ritorno nel Paese nel 2018 con il progetto Barzan, in fase di completamento. Saipem sta già realizzando il progetto Jacket WHP12N, assegnato a luglio 2020, che fa parte dello sviluppo del North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project.
La nuova acquisizione rientra nel portafoglio ordini al 31 dicembre 2020.
Oltre a questa acquisizione, sempre nell'ambito del programma di sviluppo complessivo del North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project, Saipem ha ricevuto da Qatargas una Letter of Intent per il pacchetto contrattuale riguardante le condotte di esportazione offshore e relativi lavori onshore del North Field Production Sustainability Pipelines Project. L'aggiudicazione di questo pacchetto aggiuntivo è subordinata alla definizione dei dettagli contrattuali e all'approvazione finale del Cliente.
Saipem ha recentemente ampliato i propri uffici nel Paese e potenziato la propria capacità di fabbricazione attraverso la collaborazione con un cantiere locale, per poter offrire uno schema di esecuzione sostenibile basato in Qatar.

San Donato Milanese, February 22, 2021 - Saipem has received from Qatargas a Letter of Award for the development of the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project, located offshore of the North-East cost of Qatar peninsula. The contract is worth approximately 1.7 billion USD.
The scope of work encompasses the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation of various offshore facilities for the extraction and transportation of natural gas, including platforms, supporting and connecting structures, subsea cables and anticorrosion internally cladded pipelines. Furthermore, the project encompasses the decommissioning of a pipeline and other significant modifications to existing offshore facilities.
Pipe-laying and lifting operations will be executed by the DE HE vessel in water depths of approximately 65 meters, leveraging on Saipem's high-end welding technology for corrosion resistant cladded pipelines to meet Client's stringent quality requirements.
The project aims at increasing the early gas field production capacity to 110 million tonnes per annum.
This new contract, which consolidates the group's position in Qatar, is the latest of a string of projects awarded to Saipem since its return in the Country in 2018 with the Barzan project, nearing completion. Saipem is already executing the WHP12N Jacket project, awarded in July 2020, which is part of the North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project development.
This new contract award is included in December 31st 2020 backlog.
In addition to this award and still in the frame of the overall North Field Production Sustainability Offshore Project development program, Saipem has received from Qatargas a Letter of Intent for the contractual package regarding offshore export pipelines and related onshore works of the North Field Production Sustainability Pipelines Project. The award of this additional package is subject to the definition of contractual details and the Client's final approval.
Saipem has recently expanded its offices in the country and strengthened its fabrication capability by cooperating with a local fabrication yard, offering a sustainable Qatar-based execution scheme.
