Saipem acquista il mezzo navale Lewek Constellation
San Donato Milanese (MI), 22 marzo 2018 – Saipem ha concluso un accordo per acquistare la DP3 Lewek Constellation, una nave da costruzione di tubazioni rigide e flessibili in acque profonde e sollevamento fino a 3000 tonnellate. Completata nel 2013, la Constellation potrà essere proposta subito per nuove iniziative commerciali.
La Constellation potrà operare in ogni regione geografica, in particolare nel Golfo del Messico, nel Mare del Nord e nel Mar di Norvegia, aree in cui le caratteristiche del mezzo sono particolarmente idonee ad attività di tie-back sottomarini.
L'Amministratore Delegato di Saipem, Stefano Cao, ha commentato: "Siamo lieti di annunciare questo acquisto. La Constellation è il nuovo mezzo arrivato all'interno della flotta di Saipem che andrà a integrare e completare la nostra offerta con capacità di reeling per rispondere in maniera competitiva e coerente con i nostri standard di sicurezza alle esigenze del mercato dei tie-back sottomarini. Infatti, nello scenario economico attuale, gli sviluppi in questo segmento stanno diventando sempre più importanti in quanto massimizzano l'utilizzo delle infrastrutture esistenti a costi ragionevoli. Saipem, che partecipava solo in parte a questo mercato, con la Constellation colma questo vuoto ampliando la sfera delle future opportunità."
"Questo acquisto è parte della nostra strategia finalizzata a incrementare la crescita nel segmento subsea e contribuirà ulteriormente a potenziare le relazioni con il nostro partner nel segmento SURF e SPS nonché con i principali clienti attivi in questo mercato", ha sottolineato Cao.
La Constellation verrà acquistata per 275 milioni USD, attraverso l'utilizzo di una parte della liquidità disponibile. La guidance 2018 sul capex e sull'indebitamento netto comunicata il 6 marzo 2018 non prevedeva questo investimento. In considerazione del tempo necessario a finalizzare gli sforzi commerciali in corso in questo segmento di business, la guidance per i ricavi e l'EBITDA adjusted 2018 resteranno inalterati.

Saipem buys the Lewek Constellation vessel
San Donato Milanese (MI), March 22, 2018 – Saipem has entered into an agreement to acquire the Ultra Deepwater Rigid and Flexible Pipelay, 3000 ton Heavy Lift and Construction Vessel Lewek Constellation.
Completed in 2013, Constellation is readily available to be promoted for commercial opportunities.
The Constellation will be marketed in all geographic areas including the Gulf of Mexico and the North and Norwegian Seas where the vessel characteristics make it suitable to pursue the Subsea Tie-Back initiatives predominant in those areas.
Stefano Cao, Chief Executive Officer of Saipem commented: "We are pleased to announce this acquisition. The Constellation is the latest addition to Saipem world class fleet that will integrate our offering with Reeling capabilities in order to safely and competitively respond to the needs of the Subsea Tie-Back Market. Indeed, in the current economic scenario, the Subsea Tie-Backs developments are becoming increasingly important as they maximise the utilisation of the existing infrastructures at reasonable expenditures. Saipem was only partially participating in this market. The acquisition of the Constellation bridges this gap, expanding the set of future opportunities."
"This acquisition is part of our strategy aimed at fostering Saipem Subsea growth and will additionally contribute to enhance stronger relationships with our partner in the integrated SURF and SPS segment and with the clients mostly active in this market", emphasised Cao.
The Constellation will be acquired for USD 275 million through the partial utilization of available liquidity. The 2018 Capex and Net debt guidance, as provided on March 6th 2018, did not include this investment. Considering the time to finalise commercial endeavours on this expanded business segment, Revenues and EBITDA Adjusted 2018 guidance will remain unchanged.
