Appointment of Bridget McIntyre as Independent Non-Executive Director

Saga plc ("Saga" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Bridget McIntyre as an Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2016. Bridget will be a member of Saga's Audit, Risk, Remuneration and Nomination Committees and will also become a Non-Executive Director of Acromas Insurance Company Limited ("AICL"), Saga's insurance underwriting subsidiary.

Bridget has considerable general and financial management experience, gained through senior roles within some of the UK's largest general insurers. Most recently she was Chief Executive of the RSA UK business and a Director of RSA Insurance Group plc having previously held senior roles at Aviva (and pre-merger Norwich Union).

Bridget is also a Non-Executive Director of Adnams and an associate with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. 

Commenting on the new appointment, Andrew Goodsell, Chairman, said: "We are delighted that Bridget has agreed to join us and her appointment considerably enhances our insurance expertise at Board level. She brings with her a wealth of industry experience that will be of great value to us as we continue to develop this key part of our business."
