SAF-HOLLAND receives the Gold Award at the 2017 Solutrans Innovation Awards
Luxembourg, December 7, 2017 – SAF-HOLLAND, Europe’s largest listed commercial vehicle supplier, received the gold award at the 2017 Solutrans Innovation Awards for its SAF Adaptive Air Damping System at the Solutrans international transportation trade show.
At the Solutrans Innovation Awards, launched in 2001, the Lyon Chamber of Commerce, Lyon Métropole CCI, honors the most innovative solutions in the transportation industry in the categories of Bodywork Manufacturers and Equipment Manufacturers. The expert jury, consisting of well-known representatives from businesses, associations and the media, selects the winners in the categories gold, silver, bronze and sustainable development.
This year, SAF-HOLLAND’s innovative air damping system SAF Adaptive Air Damping received the gold award – the highest accolade in the equipment category. The air damping system simultaneously assumes the functions of the air spring and the damper and can be integrated into the usual chassis systems in today’s vehicles. As a result, semi-trailers no longer need hydraulic shock absorbers.

The new system is set to enter the market in 2018.
