The Netherlands shows interest in Gripen

Saab has today responded to the F16 replacement questionnaire issued by the Dutch Ministry of Defence, offering 85 Gripen NG (Next Generation) to the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

The response is an all inclusive package with 85 Gripen NG, training, spares, simulators and support at a price that meets the Dutch defence budget plans.

Saab is prepared to offer industrial co-operation to at least 100 percent of the total value of a possible contract, which would generate economic benefits and employment within Dutch high-tech industry.

Gripen NG is a true multi-role fighter aircraft, fulfilling all the capabilities the Royal Netherlands Air Force has specified in its request, such as combat range and endurance, weapons carriage capability, engine thrust and super cruise capability.

More details on the Gripen offer to the Netherlands will be presented at a press conference in Den Haag on Tuesday.

Saab serves the global market with world-leading products, services and solutions ranging from military defence to civil security. Saab has operations and employees on all continents and constantly develops, adopts and improves new technology to meet customers' changing needs.
