On 22 December 2014 BlackRock, Inc., New York, NY, U.S.A., has informed us
pursuant to sec. 21 para. 1 Securities Trading Act (WpHG) of the following:

The percentage of the voting rights of BlackRock, Inc., in RWE AG has
fallen below the threshold of 5% on 18 December 2014 and amounts to 4,96%
of the voting rights (28,571,667 voting rights) on that day. 2,12% of the
voting rights (12,211,343 voting rights) are attributable pursuant to sec.
22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 1 WpHG. 0,0001% of the voting rights (470 voting
rights) are attributable pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 2 in
connection with sent. 2 WpHG. 3,07% of the voting rights (17,684,772 voting
rights) are attributable pursuant to sec. 22 para. 1 sent. 1 no. 6 in
connection with sent. 2 WpHG.
Please note that the total amount stated above does not necessarily equal
the sum of the detailed attributed holdings. This results from voting
rights having multiple attributions within the BlackRock group structure.
