The Supervisory Board of RWE Aktiengesellschaft has appointed Mr. Peter
Terium as member of the Executive Board of RWE Aktiengesellschaft and
Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board as of 1 September 2011.

In addition, the Supervisory Board of RWE Aktiengesellschaft and Dr. Jürgen
Großmann have amicably agreed to dissolve Dr. Großmann's appointment as
member of the Executive Board and Chairman of the Executive Board of RWE
Aktiengesellschaft on 30 June 2012 at his own wish.

With effect on 01 July 2012, the Supervisory Board has appointed Mr. Peter
Terium as Chairman of the Executive Board and Dr. Rolf Martin Schmitz as
Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of RWE Aktiengesellschaft.
