DRILL TESTING OF IP ANOMALIES COMMENCES

Rox Resources Limited (ASX: RXL, "Rox") has commenced drilling to test several previously announced large IP anomalies at the Bon Noi and Nam Yen prospects at the Pha Luang zinc and lead project in Laos (Figure 1).

Rox has defined three large IP targets that sit below extensive high grade soil anomalies at Bon Noi, and two large IP targets at Nam Yen. An RC rig is currently on site drilling the pre-collars for the deeper diamond core holes that will be necessary to test these large targets. Diamond core drilling is expected to commence in approximately 2 weeks.

The Company has also received further encouraging results from RC drilling at the Pha Sod zinc prospect.

Drilling at Pha Sod was designed to test outcrops of zinc and lead sulphides within an area of strong geochemical anomalism and to follow up previous drilling which had intersected wide but modest grade zinc mineralisation (Figure 2).

Rox's Managing Director, Mr Ian Mulholland, said these latest Pha Sod drilling results were encouraging because they indicate a trend towards higher grade mineralisation as the drilling approaches an IP anomaly that was only recently identified.

The IP anomaly at Pha Sod sits below the area drilled; similar to the very large IP anomalies that sit beneath the drilling at Bon Noi and Nam Yen. The results of the IP survey only became available after the completion of the drilling at Pha Sod.

Seven (7) holes were drilled with some of the better intercepts including:

PLR082: 9 metres grading 1.71% Zn from 44 metres, and
1 metre grading 5.34% Zn from 60 metres
PLR085: 12 metres grading 2.24% Zn from 64 metres
PLR086: 12 metres grading 2.24% Zn from 100 metres
including 4 metres grading 3.60% Zn from 100 metres

The IP survey at Pha Sod shows two possible chargeability anomalies - one lying below the area tested by the drilling and the other to the south of the area drilled. Extensions to the IP survey will be necessary to properly define the extent of the IP anomalies.

It should be noted that the drilling completed to date at Pha Sod is not deep enough to penetrate the IP anomaly.

"Pha Sod is an extremely zinc-rich soil geochemical anomaly with grades exceeding 5% combined Zn+Pb in soils over a 600 x 300 metre area. That's a lot of metal and it had to come from somewhere," Mr Mulholland said. "The geochemical anomaly appears to be offset from the primary mineralisation and the IP is showing us where to follow up, so after extending the IP survey for better definition, we will drill some deeper holes to test this."

About Rox Resources

Rox owns a 60% interest in the Pha Luang lead-zinc project in Laos which it believes has the potential to become a large new lead-zinc district. The project area covers a 20km2 mining concession area, is virtually unexplored and contains more than 20 lead-zinc prospects. Mineralisation is widespread with zinc oxides and lead sulphides outcropping in various places along a strike length of over 10km.

Rox is currently involved in an exploration program at Pha Luang, which is anticipated to involve 7,000 metres of drilling, extensive soil sampling, and geophysical surveys, and should result in definition of extensions to the mineralisation at Nam Yen. Intersection of sulphides at one or more other prospects is also expected, demonstrating the project's potential.

Located on the Indo-China Peninsula, close to markets in Thailand, China and Vietnam, the Lao economy is growing rapidly as the country moves from a centrally planned economy to a more market orientated one. With its excellent geological potential, where Rox is among several Australian mining companies enjoying outstanding success; the Lao Government has stated its intentions to embrace mining as a priority industry.
