ASX/MEDIA RELEASE 12 May 2006
ROX EXTENDS LEAD-ZINC DISCOVERY
Rox Resources Limited (ASX: RXL) ("Rox") today announced further thick intersections of leadzinc mineralisation at the Nam Yen prospect within the Pha Luang project in Laos.
Nam Yen is one of four major soil anomalies delineated to date at the Pha Luang project.
Today's results from 11 new shallow holes drilled at Nam Yen provide further evidence of highgrade, wide zones, particularly:
PLR016: 27 metres grading 10.5% combined Pb+Zn from 3 metres, plus 23 g/t Ag PLR025: 19 metres grading 8.6% combined Pb+Zn from 17 metres, plus 10 g/t Ag
These results confirm that ore grade mineralisation extends at least 100 metres to the south of the discovery outcrop with highest individual one metre assays from drilling being 28.2% Pb. 9.2% Zn. 95 g/t Ag.
Mineralisation remains open in all directions and an outcrop of galena has been discovered 70 metres east of the drilling.
On 27 April 2006, Rox reported the discovery of lead-zinc sulphide mineralisation at Nam Yen with significant drill intersections including:
- PLR009: 6 metres grading 11.6% combined Pb+Zn, from 4 metres
- PLR010: 8 metres grading 8.7% combined Pb+Zn from 16 metres
- PLR015: 33 metres grading 11.4% combined Pb+Zn from 4 metres
Rox's Managing Director Mr Ian Mulholland said that drill access preparation for further drilling to extend the mineralisation south, west and east at Nam Yen is currently underway and access is also being prepared to a number of other untested prospects.
Rox plans to continue drilling through the wet season while conditions permit.
Mr Mulholland went on to say that two drill holes from today's results were of particular significance and encouragement.
"PRL023 and 026 were collared some 50 metres to the west of the other drilling and indicate that the lateral extension of the mineralisation may be extensive." said Mr Mulholland.
PLR026: 11 metres grading 4.6% combined Pb+Zn from 31 metres; PLR023: 5 metres grading 7.8% combined Pb+Zn from 55 metres, plus 20 g/t Ag.
Hole PLR023 ended in strong mineralisation of 8.9% Zn, 3.4% Pb, 18 g/t Ag.
Other significant intersections with mineralisation starting at very shallow depths include:
PLR017: 5 metres grading 6.3% combined Pb+Zn, from 10 metres
PLR021: 5 metres grading 6.9% combined Pb+Zn, from 9 metres
PLR024: 9 metres grading 5.8% combined Pb+Zn from 19 metres
A number of further known occurrences of mineralisation have yet to be mapped and soil sampled to generate drill targets as follows:

ABOUT ROX
Rox is a Perth-based exploration company with a portfolio of projects in Laos and South Africa. In Laos. Rox is exploring the Pha Luang lead-zinc project where high grade drill intercepts of lead and zinc have been made, and has first right of refusal over a number of other prospective resource projects. In South Africa, Rox has a number of alluvial and kimberlite diamond projects.
The information in this report that relates to Exploration Results and Mineral Resources is based on information compiled by Mr lan Mulholland B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc., F.Aus.I.M.M., F.A.I.G., F.S.E.G., who is a Fellow of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. Mr Mulholland has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration, and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the "Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves".
