ASX/MEDIA RELEASE

ROX FURTHER EXTENDS LEAD-ZINC MINERALISED ZONE IN LAOS

Rox Resources Limited ("Rox") (ASX: RXL) is pleased to announce that recent drilling at the Nam Yen prospect at its Pha Luang lead-zinc project in Laos has continued to extend sulphide mineralisation.

This extension is encouraging given the early stage of exploration, with Rox having only been exploring here for a short time. Recent mapping and soil sampling has identified over 20 strong prospects with five sufficiently advanced to represent immediate drill targets.

To date only three of these targets have been tested with limited drilling. Two of these, Bon Noi and Nam Yen, have returned significant results.

At Nam Yen 22 holes have now been drilled with 17 achieving significant results including:

  • 33 metres at 11.4% combined Pb+Zn, 19 g/t Ag, from 4 metres,
  • 27 metres at 10.5% combined Pb+Zn, 23 g/t Ag, from 3 metres, and
  • 19 metres at 8.6% combined Pb+Zn, 10 g/t Ag from 17 metres.

Results from two of the last three holes drilled at Nam Yen before operations ceased due to the onset of the wet season included:

PLD041: 12.6 metres grading 4.5% combined Pb+Zn from 64.2 metres, plus 6 g/t Ag,
including 2.5 metres grading 5.8% combined Pb+Zn from 64.2 metres, plus 11 g/t Ag,
3.0 metres grading 6.7% combined Pb+Zn from 67.9 metres, plus 5 g/t Ag,
2.7 metres grading 8.1% combined Pb+Zn from 74.1 metres, plus 7 glt Ag.

PLD039: 5.0 metres grading 3.6% combined Pb+Zn from 66.5 metres, plus 9 g/t Ag, and 2.2 metres grading 2.9% combined Pb+Zn from 92.2 metres, plus 5 g/t Ag.

Rox Managing Director, Mr Ian Mulholland said that these results indicate an extension of the broad zone of mineralisation at Nam Yen for at least another 50 metres from previous drilling.

"With this style of ore deposit it is not unusual to find variable grades and thicknesses. It is important that we are still seeing mineralisation with a total thickness of over 12 metres."

"Given the early stage of our exploration and limitations of this drilling in terms of hole locations not optimally placed in an area of difficult access, we are encouraged by the results and believe the mineralised zone can be further extended, with limits to the south, east and west still untested", he said.

An extensive exploration programme is planned to commence in November at the end of the current wet season, which will include further drilling at Nam Yen and the drill testing of at least another five strong prospects.

ABOUT ROX

Rox is a Perth-based exploration company exploring the Pha Luang lead-zinc project where high grade drill intercepts of lead and zinc have been made at the Nam Yen prospect, and has first right of refusal over a number of other prospective resource projects. Laos is a rapidly growing economy on the Indo-China peninsula, located close to markets in Thailand, China and Vietnam. Several Australian mining companies are enjoying outstanding success operating in Laos, benefiting from the policies of the very supportive government.

The information in this report that relates to Exploration Results and Mineral Resources is based on information compiled by Mr lan Mulholland B.Sc (Hons), M.Sc., F.Aus.I.M.M., F.A.I.G., F.S.E.G., who is a Fellow of The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. Mr Mulholland has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration, and to the activity which he is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the "Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves". Mr Mulholland is a full time employee of the Company and consents to the inclusion in the report of the matters based on his information in the form and context in which it appears.
