THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS HAS APPROVED PUBLIC COMMITMENT TO THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS OF THE UNITED NATIONS

The Board of Directors of Rosneft Oil Company approved the strategic guidelines and Public statement "Rosneft: contributing to implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals".

Starting with 2010, Rosneft has participated in the UN Global Compact and shares its core principles. The UN Global Compact urges its members to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at improving the well-being of the current and future generations.

The Board of Directors approved Rosneft strategy related to commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Following the practice accepted by international majors, Rosneft has determined five goals of strategic priority which are directly supported by its core operations, including Good health and well-being, Affordable and clean energy, Decent work and economic growth, Climate action, and Partnerships for the goals.

The Public statement "Rosneft: contributing to implementation of UN Sustainable Development Goals" complies with the principles of openness, transparency and informed dialogue with shareholders, investors and other stakeholders.

Commenting on the Board of Directors decision, Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft Oil Company, said: "The Company is focused on the prudent use of natural resources, production of modern environment-friendly fuels and minimization of its environmental impact. Within the Rosneft-2022 Strategy we are implementing the initiatives which will allow the Company to enter the first quartile of international oil and gas companies in the area of health, safety and environment, along with developing the employee potential and contributing to the regional socioeconomic development, which is in full compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations."

The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation recognized Rosneft as the company of the highest social responsibility in the Russian Federation for two years running. Approval of the Public statement "Rosneft: contributing to implementation of UN Sustainable Goals" by the Board of Directors is another proof that social and environmental responsibility is one of the Company's core values.
