Drilling commences at the Plateau gold deposit

Rockfire Resources plc (LON: ROCK), the AIM-quoted gold and base metal exploration company, is pleased to announce it has commenced drilling at the Plateau gold deposit, North Queensland, Australia.

The drilling aims to achieve the following:

·   To increase the confidence of the Inferred 1.15 Mt @ 1.1 g/t Au for 40,400 ounces of gold, as announced on the 4 July 2019;

·    To extend the current resource;

·    To test new geological targets;

·    To test a geophysical anomaly identified by reprocessing historical geophysical data.

"We're excited to start drilling at Plateau as this presents a great opportunity for Rockfire to potentially discover a very large gold deposit. Plateau has similarities to the currently operational Mt Wright gold mine (+1 Moz) which occurs approximately 50 km northeast of Plateau. Mt Wright and Plateau are both breccia-hosted gold deposits, with similar alteration and mineralisation styles."
