Item 8.01 Other Events.

Venaxis, Inc. (the “Company”) disclosed that the one-for-eight reverse stock split of its Common Stock, no par value, effectuated by the filing of Articles of Amendment to amend and restate its Articles of Incorporation, will be effective on the NASDAQ Capital Market on March 31, 2016. NASDAQ has informed the Company that NASDAQ no longer appends a "D" as a fifth character to the Company's trading symbol to identify the reverse stock split. The Company's trading symbol is "APPY."
