| Richardson Announces Date of Second Quarter Conference Call |

| LaFox, IL, Tuesday December 7, 2004: Richardson Electronics, Ltd. (NASDAQ: RELL) plans
to release financial results for its second quarter fiscal 2005,
or the three months ended November 27, 2004, after the close of
the business on Thursday, December 16, 2004. The release will
be distributed by PR Newswire and will be available on the
Company's website at www.rell.com. On Friday, December 17, 2004 at 9:00 a.m.
CST, Mr. Edward J. Richardson, Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer will host a conference call to discuss the release.
