RIBER confirms its diversification into OLEDs with a major effusion cell order in Asia

Bezons, January 5th, 2010 – 5:45 pm – RIBER is announcing orders for OLED effusion cells, covering several millions euro. The strengthening of sales with an existing customer highlights RIBER's ability to industrialize its solutions for manufacturing OLED screens and confirms its successful diversification strategy.

This order in Asia involves supplying effusion cells designed for manufacturing OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) structures on smartphone screens.

Following on from a first order taken during the first half of 2010, this latest commercial success corresponds to a global order for several hundred cells to be delivered in 2011. It shows RIBER's ability to move on from research and establish itself as an OEM supplier in the OLED industry.

For reference, the OLED technology is based on the organic properties of certain molecules which emit light when submitted to an electrical current. Environmentally friendly, OLED screens consume less power than LCD screens, offer wider angle visibility and deliver much brighter and contrasting images. First used for developing small screens (mobile phones, radios, notebooks, etc.), the OLED technology is gradually diversifying with the manufacturing of flexible large screens and lighting (light sheets).

This new order confirms RIBER's commercial positioning in this strongly growing sector and will enable it to increase its "OLED new technologies" revenues by around 250% in 2011.
