Further order for a research machine in France

Bezons, France, March 1, 2010 – 6 pm – RIBER, the global leader for molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), announces the sale of an MBE412 III-V to the CNRS Toulouse System Analysis and Architecture Laboratory (LAAS).

This acquisition will complement the equipment base of the LAAS technology center, a member of the Basic Technological Research - RTB network, a partnership between CNRS and CEA.

The machine sold to LAAS is highly flexible and offers a unique design to process large size substrates for the highly accurate realization of III-V semi conductors.

It will contribute to increase the LAAS research capabilities in the opto-GaAs field and consolidate work carried out on photonic components and their integration into a system. It will allow the design of innovative devices devoted to nano-photonics, quantum well and box components, advanced laser sources such as surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) and photonic crystal laser diodes

RIBER's MBE412 system, open to the community as part of the RTB network, will offer highly competitive R&D resources to face up to the challenges of micro-nanotechnologies and nanosciences.

This order from a first rate European laboratory confirms RIBER's foremost position in semi-conductor research and testifies to its significant nanotechnology expertise.
