RIBER seals a major new order for OLED effusion cells in Asia
Bezons, July 12th, 2011 - 5:45 pm - RIBER, the global leader for molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and thin-layer material deposit specialist, is announcing that it has signed a new contract for OLED effusion cells for several million euros.
In July 2011, Riber received a major order for supplying effusion cells designed for manufacturing OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) structures on smartphone screens. It corresponds to several hundred cells to be delivered before the end of the year, and follows on from several significant orders achieved on a regular basis since mid-2010.
The OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology is based on the properties of certain organic molecules which emit light when subjected to an electrical current. Environmentally friendly, OLED screens consume less power than LCD screens, offer wider angle visibility and deliver much brighter and sharper images. First used for developing small screens (mobile phones, radios, notebooks, etc.), the OLED technology is gradually diversifying with the manufacturing of flexible large screens and lighting (light sheets).
The development of sales with a leading customer confirms the quality of RIBER's industrial solutions for manufacturing OLED screens. This new commercial success strengthens RIBER's key position as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) supplier in this strongly growing sector.
