REXEL STRENGTHENS ITS PRESENCE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM THROUGH THE ACQUISITION OF THE ASSETS OF WILTS WHOLESALE ELECTRICAL
Rexel, a global leader in the distribution of electrical supplies, announces the acquisition of 59 branches of Wilts Wholesale Electrical, one of the largest independent distributors of electrical supplies operating in England and Wales.
This acquisition complements Rexel's position in United Kingdom and is consistent with Rexel's strategic aim of strengthening its market share in key mature markets.
This acquisition will be consolidated as from March 1 st, 2012 and should generate sales of close to €60 million on an annualized basis.
Wilts Wholesale Electrical
Founded in 1925 and based in Trowbridge (Witshire), Wilts Wholesale Electrical operates through 59 branches located in England and 3 located in Wales. The family-owned company is one of the largest independent distributors of electrical supplies in the United Kingdom.
Rexel in the United Kingdom
Rexel is the largest electrical distributor in the United Kingdom. Operating from over 380 branches located across England, Wales and Scotland, Rexel's activity in the United Kingdom in 2011 contributed over €950 million to the Group's consolidated revenues and posted strong organic growth (+8.1%).
