ASX ANNOUNCEMENT

SELECT VACCINES RESTRUCTURES BOARD

17 August 2005; Select Vaccines Ltd (ASX:SLT) has announced changes to its Board of Directors and management, as part of its move to expand its operations and build its portfolio of products and commercial agreements.

Mr. Robin Beaumont, who was recently appointed to the Board, will become Non-Executive Chairman, replacing Executive Chairman Mr. Jeremy Cooper who also retires as a Director of the company. Dr. Martin Soust has become full-time Managing Director of Select Vaccines, relinquishing his role as part-time CEO at Premier Bionics Ltd. Mr. Peter Marks has become a Non-Executive Director and will continue to consult to the company with a focus on corporate advisory and fundraising activities.

Mr. Beaumont has a background in venture capital and private equity as well as being strategy consultant over many years. He was Managing Director of the Advent venture capital and private equity group during the late 1990's. He is currently Chairman of the Cooperative Research Centre for Diagnostics and ag-biotechnology company Primegro Ltd. He is also a Non-Executive Director of GroPep Ltd and Evogenix Ltd, both ASX-listed biotechnology companies.

All changes are effective immediately.

Mr. Beaumont thanked Mr. Cooper for his excellent contribution to the company during the past two years, particularly for guiding the company through its formative start-up phase.

The company, which listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 2003, is in partnership with Melbourne's Burnet Institute to develop and commercialise diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics to combat infectious diseases. The Burnet Institute, established in 1986, is Australia's leading research organisation in the field of infectious diseases caused by viruses and other agents.
