RENK AG: RENK generates record earnings in 2005

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— RENK generates record earnings in 2005 Propelled by worldwide demand for mechanical engineering products, RENK succeeded in considerably improving order intake, sales, and earnings. Order intake gained 19% to rise to EUR314 million, sales advanced 13% to EUR307 million. Thanks to the higher revenues and further rationalization effects, operating profit (EBIT) showed an accelerated increase from EUR21 million to EUR29 million, equivalent to a return on sales of 9.5% (2004: 7.7%). Earnings per share amount to EUR2.19 (2004: EUR1.67). It will be proposed to the annual stockholders’ meeting to once again distribute a cash dividend of EUR1.20 per share for fiscal 2005. The stock repurchase option allowed by the stockholders’ meeting was not exercised in 2005. With the economy continuing bright, order intake in 2006 can again top the EUR300 million level. Thanks to the tall order backlog of over EUR600 million, we identify opportunities for further moderate sales and earnings growth beyond the high level already achieved.
