For the second quarter of its fiscal year 2008, Nissan contributes €189 million to Renault earnings

Nissan today announced financial results for the first half of its fiscal year 2008/2009 (April 1, 2008 – September 30, 2008).

After restatement, the profit reported by Nissan for the second quarter of fiscal year 2008/2009 (July 1, 2008 – September 30, 2008) will make a positive contribution of €189 million (1) to Renault's net income for second-half 2008.

The total contribution for the second half, including Nissan's third-quarter 2008/2009 earnings (October 1, 2008 – December 31, 2008) will be released at the announcement of Renault's full-year financial results.

(1) Based on an average exchange rate of 161.8 yen/euro for the period under review.
